We had our first rehearsal last night for Trauma. It went better that I had thought it might. Although the material is quite complicated in some parts, we tackled it pretty effectively.

Rehearsals night two were a bit more intense than night one, but we covered a lot of ground. We made some ruthless decisions last night and cut some material we had planned to do so that we could make sure what we will be playing is top-notch. The whole show should run a little more than 90 minutes we figure. The Jackson brothers are perfectionists, which might be maddening for some but I am rather enjoying the pressure

Well last night was another three hour marathon, but this time we didn't work on the stuff we had on the two previous nights. We tackled a song of Andy's called America. Three hours. One song. That's right. But don't worry kids ... this ain't faeries and King Arthur prog-rock ... this stuff is angry and heavy and a lot of it will feel a lot more like being hit repeatedly in the face with a brick rather than sitting in a nice field playing with flowers. We'll leave that to the punk rockers ... ha ha ha! I look forward to the show. I am only sorry it will probably be the only one for a while as Nick heads back to the UK a few days later. So buy tickets if you haven't already, cancel your plans for that day, and come see the monster we've been raising.

Sunday March 5, 2006 - Well, we have now run the set in it's entirety a few times complete with the images, sequences, and other bells and whistles. It sounds pretty good, but I am sure we will still be fine tuning it all right until Sunday night.

Wednesday March 8, 2006 - Rehearsal tonight went quite well, although we did not practice all that many songs. Carol Martin and Andrea Widgett from SooToday.com dropped by our rehearsal to do an interview and snap a few pictures. That took a bit more time than we had planned but it actually wound up being rather fun. SooToday.com has always been very supportive of those of us working on original music here in SSM so what the hell. Normal rehearsals resume tomorrow.

Trauma performed on Saturday February 25 as special guests of Startlefish and Chris Belsito. The band performed three songs, Car Crash, Falling Back To Earth, and a cover of Pink Floyd's Breathe.

Until we get a full-blown website, this blog will serve as the web-based presence for Trauma.

Trauma will be a band comprised of Nick Jackson, Craig West and other musicians. Our first live show will be at Loplops Lounge in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. The show will happen on Sunday March 12 at 8:00 pm. Tickets will be $5.00. Doors will open at 7:00 pm.
